Tessa’s Weekly Picks – 3D Printed Traveling

Tessa Blokland

Going on a trip is a continuing learning curve, years of perfecting the list of what to bring with me when traveling and what I can go without for a certain period. So, I am going on a trip and I am definitely taking with me….

… A 3D printed credit card-sizes chessboard, designed by Kiriakos Christodoulou or any other travel-sized game. It is always fun to play offline with my children or with friends. Thanks to the size it will always fit somewhere in my luggage.

… A pair of shoes with 3D printed personalized insoles so I can hike for hours in nature. With Wiivvs‘ app, you can easily take photos of your feet, send it to Wiivvs and have your own customized insoles or sandals.

… A nice 3D printed bag, developed by the Self-Assembly Lab at MIT. It does not have to be handy of comfortable or anything, just a simple bag to carry the essentials while walking.

… A pair of 3D printed sunglasses, of course! I like these pairs, designed by Neubau. The design of the sunglasses is a tribute to the clear formal language of the Bauhaus.

… And last but not least a bottle of water with a super handy 3D printed carabine ring cap, designed by Japanese designer Yasuhide Yokoi!
